Practicing talking about my business, practicing presenting and speaking and getting valuable feedback and insight from other members have accelerated our growth and credibility.
Why Business Networking
Habitat+ Architects is built around generating a personal service with our clients, providing the human connections of trust, empathy and understanding. Business networking can be a great way to meet likeminded people with whom we share values, which ultimately may lead into mutual opportunities. In truth I’ve always seen it as a necessary evil until my first Opendoorz meeting where I saw it in a whole new light.
Why Opendoorz
I’ve found that Opendoorz is a group which embodies the very qualities which most value throughout its membership. Therefore, not only do I benefit from relevant personal growth and development, but the connections I make fundamentally without exception embody these likeminded qualities.
The Opendoorz Approach
The Opendoorz approach of structured meetings and insights has been proven to be effective. But I’d probably more emphasise that it puts the fun into networking. No longer is networking walking into an intimidating room and trying to speak to someone who might be a good connection but probably isn’t. From the very first moment I came to Opendoorz as a guest I was treated as a respected equal and that comradery was one of my main reasons to join.
The Results
I always quantify my benefits from Opendoorz in three ways. Firstly, but by no means the most important is business gained. Through directly working for other companies in Opendoorz, and to other via introductions made we’ve generated business which is easily five or six times the membership fee. Secondly are the connections made – now when a client of mine is in need of a particular service I’m able to more readily assist, which improves my worth and credibility. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, is the personal development and growth. Practicing talking about my business, practicing presenting and speaking and getting valuable feedback and insight from other members have accelerated our growth and credibility.
