Katharine House Hospice

When someone is diagnosed with a life-limiting illness, it can be extremely distressing for the person affected, as well as their family and friends. Katharine House Hospice is with them throughout their entire journey, from diagnosis to end-of-life care and bereavement support, whether for days, weeks, months or years.

What we offer

Our team, made up of nurses, doctors, social workers, chaplains, clinicians, specialists, counsellors and more deliver a wide range of services to support adults with life-limiting illnesses across north Oxfordshire and south Northamptonshire. We provide the individualised care our patients need, where and when they need it – either in their homes, at our hospice, in care homes or in hospital.

Our specialist, palliative care considers the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of our patients, helping them to make the most of the time they have left and create quality memories with their loved ones.

Caring for our community

All our services are free to our patients, so we rely on donations and support from the community to continue providing this vital care. It currently costs £5.9 million each year to run the hospice. This equates to £16,261 per day!’

When Brian stayed at the hospice to receive specialist care and relief from the pain caused by his terminal cancer, he told us: “I thought it was the beginning of the end. In fact, it was the beginning of a new beginning.”

By supporting Katharine House Hospice, you will make a positive contribution to the community in which you work and from which you recruit, as well as actively showing your support for a charity valued by your customers, employees and wider stakeholders. More importantly, you will be helping to fund all those things that allow us to make every moment matter for our patients and their loved ones.
