I live with my husband Paul. I am focussed on trying to get a dood work/life balance. I try and find time to do all the things I enjoy which includes; open water swimming, cooking, painting, yoga, reading, walks in the countryside, meals out, playing the flute, spending quality time with my family and friends and date nights with Paul!

I am Heidi Black, a freelance HR professional working in Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire, and my approach focuses on putting people before process.

Whether it’s shedding light on the real issues, freeing up people’s time to focus on the important stuff or shifting personal perspectives, my goal is always to move people forward in order to deliver the best outcome for all involved.

For me, Human Resources is about bringing the best out in people. It helps organisations make the biggest impacts, supporting them to evolve, develop and grow.

I can provide cost-effective general HR support on a basis to best suit your business needs. I can bring my "toolkit" of experience to achieve the outcome you are looking for having taken the time to really understand your business.

A good set of employment documentation can provide the backbone to a set of expectations in the employer/employee relationship. I can support you to ensure that this is in place and fits culturally as well as being compliant.

Aligning the values of your organisation with the experience of your employees is at the core of Employee Relations. It is about creating and delivering people practices which develop and maintain a positive working relationship between a business and its people.

By putting people before process, I aim to understand the root cause of the presenting problem and by having sometimes difficult and challenging conversations to move forward. I will work alongside you at every step of the process.

When starting work with a new client, I want to get a sense of where you are as a business and understand who you are and what you do. This informs my approach of how best to meet your needs.

After our first conversation, I aim for all parties to have a shared understanding of the needs and requirements. From this, I will produce a tailored proposal that provides transparency and clarity on the way forward
