I have over 30 years’ experience in a wide variety of recruitment, talent and employer branding roles; starting as a recruitment consultant but for most of the time, helping organisations to hire direct.
I worked for the world’s biggest RPO (recruitment process outsourcing) business, ran my own recruitment adverting business for 13 years, and now run CB Talent Consulting as a sole trader, which I set up in January 2022, after a desire to get out of corporate life.
The recruitment market has never been hotter, with over 1 million live vacancies (double that of pre-COVID) and low unemployment. And so, organisations have to differentiate themselves from the competition who are after the same talent with a strong and well-managed employer brand, and try harder and more creatively than ever, to hire and keep the talent they need.
This is where I come in.
Having worked across all sectors over many years – from a variety of commercial sectors, local and central government, to charities and higher education - I have helped solve many recruitment challenges across all functions, and from volume, entry level talent through to senior and specialist roles.
I firmly believe in ‘falling in love with the problem first’ and experience means I know the right questions to ask to properly understand a client’s challenges.
From there, I provide advice and solutions for the whole candidate to employee lifecycle including employer brand development, recruitment media planning & buying, advert copywriting, assessment and selection, making the correct hiring decision, onboarding, recruitment technology and how to you use your website and social media to promote your employer brand. And I provide project management to implement any solution required.
In this hot recruitment climate, it is often not enough to simply target the 7 million active job seekers out there. Organisations need to reach out to those 27 million employees who are not actively job hunting, because many surveys tell us that a high percentage of them would change roles if the right opportunity tapped them on the shoulder at the right time, with the right message.
