“Long coastal walks and hiking the hills accompanied by working cocker spaniel Mitzy.”
I am a highly proficient family law solicitor at HMG Law. I joined HMG Law in 2014, having worked at firms in West London and Lancaster and became Partner and Head of Family Department in 2015.
I am experienced in matrimonial matters, particularly divorce and financial settlements, as well as pre-nuptial agreements, and matters arising from the breakdown of cohabiting relationships and issues surrounding children.
When approached by a client I really listen and am always sensitive to heightened emotions in difficult situations, giving space where it is needed. I always take the time to explain the law and how it applies to the client’s individual circumstances.
Clients need to know what the likely outcome of their matter is – what money they will be left with, what the arrangements for the children might be. If they are being unrealistic, I don’t shy away from telling them that. I will not promise the world if it can’t be delivered. I always aim to provide the individual support and information clients need – my clients come to me to interpret that law for them and make it work for them and their particular circumstances.”
This sincerity and understanding clearly works, as clients describe me as a good listener, trustworthy, sympathetic and effective; my colleagues echo this describing me as knowledgeable, powerful, caring, approachable and empathetic.
I am a member of Resolution who promote a conciliatory and non confrontational approach to family matters and I am also an accredited specialist in Private Children Law and Complex Financial Remedies. I have sat on the Resolution Oxfordshire committee for the last 10 years, most recently as the Chair and am a representative on the Local Family Justice Board. I have been listed in the Legal 500 for several years with numerous testimonials from clients and peers including “impressed by her confidence (not misplaced) in advising clients. She always gets it bang on. She is a fighter and won’t stop until she gets the client what they are due (and more sometimes). An excellent tactician and lawyers and clients have confidence in her and rightly so”.
I am currently a Trustee of Modern Art Oxford Modern Art Oxford, one of the UK’s leading contemporary art spaces with an international reputation for bold and ambitious programming.
