Play Hard…
I love to be outside, either in sunshine or rain. I will either be getting muddy on my mountain bike, slogging up a hill on my road bike, swimming or gardening. If the weather really is too miserable to be outside, I will be behind an easel, producing pastel paintings.
Work Hard…
From the age of seven, my dream was to become an architect. I qualified in South Africa and moved to the UK in 2001. I set up Lawrence Architects Ltd in 2020 in order to focus on my first love in architecture terms: residential architecture.
Lawrence Architects (LA) offers a personalised service that benefits from my 30 years of experience working with a huge variety of clients. Everyone’s needs are different. We will listen to our clients as they describe their aspirations and needs and understand how they envisage their dream home.
We work on residential projects ranging from small residential developments through individual new build homes, to extensions and internal alterations. No job is too small.

Long Term Vision
Realising the vision for a dream home can often take place over time and at great cost. At LA we always consider the best long-term vision for the property and then work backwards from there. We encourage our clients to obtain professional cost estimates for all but the smallest of projects. We encourage our clients to use our sketch designs to obtain independent advice on value added by any proposed building work. By doing this, we encourage our clients to spend money wisely.
Skill in Style and Design
In the same way that a fashion designer will make a beautiful, tailored outfit that fits perfectly and looks amazing, LA will work on designs that match our clients tastes and lifestyle. The result – a home that will not only meet their needs for years to come, but that they will love.
3D Modelling and Visualisation
All of our projects are modelled in 3D using the latest Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology. We find that this helps our clients to visualise and understand exactly what their new home will look like. This process also irons out many technical issues before starting work on site.
Attention to detail
We have experience in and know the care needed for any renovation work on listed buildings or in conservation areas. This experience, combined with our sensitive and collaborative approach, will help effectively navigate the ever-changing planning system.
Integration of architecture and interiors
At Lawrence Architects we know that architecture and interior design are intrinsically linked. Just as we produce bespoke building designs, we can produce bespoke interior designs. Often this includes carefully curating the clients own furniture/art to maximise the beauty of their home.
