Ecology by Design Ltd is an ecology consultancy based in Oxfordshire setup in early 2015 after the director had a successful early career working with three of the largest environmental consultancies in the UK; RSK, RPS and ADAS. We specialise in ecology consultancy and have particular expertise working in multi-disciplinary teams on both large and small projects across the UK.

We pride ourselves in providing pragmatic solutions to ecological problems utilising innovative technologies and cutting-edge science such as the emerging use of DNA sampling and using state of the art survey equipment.

We work across a range of sectors such as housing, infrastructure, minerals and waste and advise many of our larger competitors on specialist areas of ecology.

Ecology by Design is a Registered Practice with the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) with the aim of:

  • advancing the understanding and the standards of practice of ecology and environmental management for the benefit of the natural environment and the public good;
  • further the conservation, management and enhancement of biodiversity;
  • establish and uphold standards of professional competence and conduct;
  • promote the sharing of best practice;
  • support continued professional development (CPD).
