Debunk the Myths

Have you ever given thought to what the myths are around your business? What are the worries associated with your industry?

They will be there and to be honest they’re usually pretty ugly! So how do we debunk those myths – show the truth. The truth about us and how OUR business rolls.

Firstly understanding what those worries are is essential…

When thinking about potential clients do you have a clear understanding of what they ACTUALLY WANT to KNOW about your industry, your company, your service?

 And are you AWARE of their FRUSTRATIONS and CONCERNS when thinking of engaging your industries services– believe me there will always be two horror stories to every good one! And we all know which gets shouted about the loudest…

If you know these you can incorporate them into your Marketing, your S Media, Pitches & Presentations.

So how do we determine what these myths are?

  • Poll your clients – just ask them. Why do they use (and love) you more than a another/competitor?
  • Ask your contacts and connections to tell you honestly what their fears are when using your industry. Your suppliers, anyone you trust in business…
  • Be aware of recent public opinion whether in the press, on TV or being addressed on social media
  • Finally just ask friends, family – they’ll be brutal!

Create a list…

By knowing what people want to know and what drives them mad means that you can build these into your pitch for business – you can overcome fears and objections BEFORE they arise.

At Opendoorz we build them into our presentations; Showcases, Insights – if fellow members KNOW what likely objections they’ll meet when they can make an introduction they can easily talk about value, benefits, the USP – why your different and why you stand out.

A good read on this is;

You Ask They Answer by Marcus Sheridan

At Opendoorz one of the many reasons we’re there is to help create new business opportunities for each other. To do that we really need to educate each other on not just why our clients love us but also what they worry about when engaging our services…

If we know those and share the tools/words to overcome them we can pro-actively make those introductions – and, of course, we can use them in all our marketing and sales activity.

Debunk those Myths! Create a clear path of information around your business – shout loudly and proudly about your strengths…
