“I have been to some networking groups in which CPD or “thought for the day” or something similar is part of the (usually very rigid) agenda. More often than not, these are cobbled together last minute and people may find them vaguely interesting, but the question of value is very much open for debate. At Opendoorz, not only is CPD a part of every meeting (members-only and guest events) but it is taken seriously. Subjects are agreed on in advance, the group make suggestions and requests as to the most impactful topics which will provide best use of their time in this learning session. The interactive nature of the sessions ensures that we are not being lectured, but are actively discussing, learning from other successful business owners, and creating an environment of self and peer development, always with a growth mindset from all concerned. The CPD sessions at Opendoorz are one of the reasons I continue to value my group so highly.
