At Darren Bedding Photography, we believe dogs are more than pets they are much-loved members of the family, companions who leave paw prints on our hearts and memories that deserve to be treasured. We’re a friendly father and son photography business, based at our studio in Cropredy, Oxfordshire, and we love creating beautiful, characterful dog portraits that capture what makes every dog unique.

Led by Darren Bedding and his son Ryan, our dog photography sessions are designed to be relaxed, enjoyable and completely tailored to your four-legged friend. As a father and son team, we bring a warm, personal approach to every session. Darren understands that photographing dogs requires a different approach to photographing people. Every dog has its own personality, energy and character, and our aim is to bring those qualities to life through professional photography.

One of the most important aspects of our approach is getting down to your dog’s level. By photographing at eye level, Darren can focus on those expressive eyes and capture the personality behind them. Whether your dog is calm and dignified, playful and energetic, or simply a little mischievous, we take the time to create portraits that genuinely reflect who they are.

Our studio provides the perfect setting for a professional dog portrait session, while the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside surrounding the studio gives us even more opportunities to create a variety of images. From woodland and open countryside to the River Cherwell, there are plenty of natural backdrops to explore. We love getting to know our clients and their dogs, having a chat, sharing a few laughs and making the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. This combination of studio and outdoor photography allows us to produce a varied collection of portraits while keeping things fun for everyone.

We understand that not every dog is going to sit perfectly, stay on command or immediately feel comfortable in front of a camera – and that’s absolutely fine. Patience is an important part of our approach. We allow dogs time to settle, get to know us and become comfortable in their surroundings. Our client experiences show how this relaxed approach can make all the difference, including with energetic dogs and rescue dogs who may need a little extra time and understanding.

The experience is built around three simple stages: booking, the portrait session, and viewing and ordering. After the photography session, clients are invited back to the studio to view their images in a relaxed presentation on a large screen. There is no pressure to purchase; clients can simply choose the photographs and artwork they genuinely love.

Our goal is to create more than photographs. We want to produce artwork that brings back the memories, character and emotion of your dog every time you see it.
