Oxford Business Awards 2026

𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲.
But this year’s Oxfordshire Business Awards (OXBA) felt just as much about the people cheering from the tables around them.

With six finalists connected to the hashtag#Opendoorz community, and members, partners, sponsors and charity partners represented throughout the room, there was a real sense of collective pride across the evening.

One of the standout moments came when Ben Thompson was named 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿. It was a fantastic and thoroughly deserved achievement, and a moment that was met with some of the loudest cheers of the night from the Opendoorz tables.

But what stood out most was the support.

Members championing fellow members. Partners celebrating each other’s successes. Businesses coming together not because they expected anything in return, but because they genuinely wanted to see good people do well.

From sponsors such as Gravita to long-standing supporters including Wellers and Cherry Picked Residential, charity partners, finalists and members, Opendoorz was represented throughout the room. More importantly, it was represented in the applause, encouragement and enthusiasm that followed every success.

The evening also saw Style Acre, one of last year’s Opendoorz charity partners, recognised as Community Champion, adding another proud moment to a night that celebrated the very best of the local business community.

For Cathy Dunbabin, Caroline OConnor and many of the Opendoorz members in the room, the evening was not only  about awards but  about seeing the community they have helped create reflected back at them.

A network is easy to create. A community that actively supports one another is something else entirely.
