Generosity in Action: Richard Lannen, Nozzle Media

Every now and then, someone shows up in a way that quietly reminds you what Opendoorz is really about.
Richard Lannen of Nozzle Media, a member of our North Cotswold group, has done exactly that over the past few weeks and it deserves to be recognised.
Recently, Richard delivered not one but two CPD sessions, first in North Cotswolds and then again in Cheltenham. Both sessions were engaging, practical and energising, the kind of CPD that doesn’t just inform, but actually lifts the room. You could feel people leaning in, asking better questions, and leaving with ideas they were genuinely excited to try.
But what really stood out wasn’t just the expertise Richard shared, it was how he shared it.
Rather than stopping at delivery, Richard openly demonstrated his craft. He recorded our MD Cathy, members and guests, creating video and podcast content live in the room. He then went a step further: editing that content and gifting it back, not just to Opendoorz, but to the members and guests involved – freely, generously, and without expectation.
That behaviour speaks volumes. It reflects three core Opendoorz values in action:
Generosity of spirit
Richard gave his time, skill and energy in a way that was genuinely mindful of others. No hard sell. No strings attached. Just a clear intention to add value and help people show up more confidently in their own businesses.
Bringing out the best in everyone
By putting people at ease on camera and helping them see what’s possible with the right support, Richard enabled others to step forward, share their voice and build credibility, in ways they hadn’t expected.
Energise and motivate
There’s a quiet confidence Richard brings into a room. His sessions left people motivated, encouraged and inspired to take action, not overwhelmed or talked down to. That’s a rare skill.
This is exactly what we mean when we say behaviour is the real currency at Opendoorz. Not transactions. Not keeping score. But showing up well, consistently, and with the intent to make others better.
Richard didn’t just deliver CPD. He modelled what it looks like to be part of a grown-up, values-led business community and in doing so, strengthened the fabric of Opendoorz for everyone in the room.
Gemma Cubitt, Associate Director for Cheltenham commented “From the moment Richard started, the room relaxed. The atmosphere shifted, the energy lifted, and people felt comfortable getting involved. That made all the difference – suddenly everyone was more open, more curious and far more confident on camera.”
We’re proud to have Richard as part of the North Cotswold group, and grateful for the energy, generosity and standards he brings with him.
That’s Opendoorz at its best.
